Crypto Profit Calculator

Calculate crypto profit, loss, return, fees, and break-even price using your own trade assumptions. Use investment amount mode or coin quantity mode; the formulas stay deterministic either way.

This calculator estimates mathematical outcomes from the values entered. It does not predict future prices or provide financial advice.

Understanding the Calculation

How Crypto Profit Is Calculated

The calculator starts with purchase price, exit price, and either investment amount or coin quantity. It derives the matching quantity or gross purchase amount, then compares the exit value with the original purchase amount.

Gross Profit vs. Net Profit

Gross profit excludes fees. Net profit subtracts the entry and exit fees, which makes it a cleaner estimate of the scenario after trading costs.

How Fees Affect Returns

Entry fees increase the total cost basis. Exit fees reduce the final value. Both fees can move a small gain closer to break-even or turn it into a net loss.

What Break-even Price Means

Break-even is the exit price where the final net value equals the total cost basis. With fees, break-even is higher than the purchase price for a long-only spot scenario.

Why ROI Uses Total Cost Basis

Net ROI is calculated against total cost basis, including entry fees, because those fees are part of the capital required for the scenario.

Limits of Hypothetical Calculations

This tool does not include taxes, slippage, spreads, financing, liquidity, or changing market conditions. It is an educational calculator, not a prediction engine.

FAQ

Crypto Profit Calculator Questions

How is crypto profit calculated?

Crypto profit is calculated by comparing the gross value of the coins at the exit price with the gross purchase amount, then subtracting applicable entry and exit fees for a net result.

Does this calculator include trading fees?

Yes. You can enter an entry fee percentage and an exit fee percentage. The calculator subtracts those fees when estimating net profit, net loss, final value, ROI, and break-even price.

What is the break-even price?

The break-even price is the exit price where the net exit value equals the total cost basis after entry and exit fees.

What is the difference between gross profit and net profit?

Gross profit compares exit value with purchase amount before fees. Net profit subtracts entry and exit fees, so it is usually the more realistic mathematical estimate.

Can I calculate a crypto loss?

Yes. If the exit value after fees is lower than the total cost basis, the calculator displays an estimated net loss and negative ROI.

Does the calculator include taxes?

No. Taxes are not included. Tax rules differ by jurisdiction, and CoqiLabs does not provide tax advice.

Can I use the calculator for Bitcoin, Ethereum, or other cryptocurrencies?

Yes. You can select a supported asset for display and current-price context, or leave the selector on generic cryptocurrency and enter values manually.

Does CoqiLabs predict whether the exit price will be reached?

No. The calculator estimates mathematical outcomes from the values entered. It does not predict prices or provide financial advice.
